| Harry Henkel now 82, was a 16 year old Wehrmacht paratrooper. He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Monte Cassino and the Russian Front, was wounded twice and hospitalised and escaped death by the SS. Since his mother was English, his fluency enabled him to become an US Army translator during 1945-1952 before migrating to Australia. Harry Henkel's story is mesmerizing. |
